VisionLink F1 and F4 firmware update (rev 04)

2015/07/04: Firmware update v. 04 is a recommended update for EDT VisionLink Camera Link framegrabber boards.

Boards can be updated by downloading and installing PDV version 5.4.9.6 or newer driver package, then navigating to the installation directory (typically /opt/EDTpdv or C:\EDT\pdv) and running

pciload -u <unit> update

EDT exhibits at SPIE DSS Baltimore during the International Year of Light 2015

2015/04/25: EDT has been exhibiting at SPIE DSS since it relocated to Baltimore in 2012. This year, April 21 through 23, we were in booth 840 at the Baltimore Convention Center for SPIE DSS  and the International Year of Light 2015. We featured a live demo showing our VisionLink F1 connected to a Basler Ace 2000-340kc via fiber using our VisionLink RCX extender.

Our demo displayed live images under Windows 7 and Linux with our image display application, vlviewer, which is included (along with source code) as part of our free software/driver package.

VisionLink RCX now shipping

VisionLink RCX

 2015/03/10: We are pleased to announce that the VisionLink RCX, our next generation Camera Link extender, is now available to ship to customers. Similar to the RCX C-Link, the VisionLink RCX converts Camera Link data to fiber optic, extending the distance the camera can be located to dozens, hundreds or even thousands of meters. The VisionLink RCX supports base mode cameras over the complete Camera Link speed range of 20-85 MHz via 1.25-3.2Gb/s SFP fiberoptic transceivers.

Version 5.4.8.2 driver packages released

2015/02/24: Version 5.4.8.2 packages for EDT PDV (imaging) and PCD (telemetry, telecom and general purpose I/O) have been released. The following is a partial list of changes. For complete lists, see the changelogs on the respective driver download pages.

  • clseredt.dll & .so code modified, clSerialRead wouldn’t timeout per CL spec
  • Doxygen changes updated urls to match new website in code comments
  • Comments added re. vxworks on all applications clarifying NO_MAIN purpose
  • edtlib: edt_get_xref_info added/updated with new optional file params &, edt_find_xpn calls that internally now
  • Add support for MSI interrupts *only* for boards which require it. Requires reboot instead of driver unload/reload.
  • Added validate_pcdinst.sh for validation testing
  • pcix_diagtool renamed pciediag, built on install, added to windows pkgs
  • Make clean more complete (esp. windows) Linux_64, Win7_32 and Win7_64. Controlled and logged by Jenkins.
  • edtlib: edt_get_xref_info added/updated with new optional file params &, edt_find_xpn calls that internally now
  • New devs (a4-a6 blades) added to pciload (program & query)
  • Comments added re. vxworks on all applications clarifying NO_MAIN purpose

  • Linux: deprecated (and unused) sleep_on calls removed from driver
