Combo 3 – changes to E1 support

_pciss_combo38/12/2009: The E1 line interface unit (LIU) on the original Combo 3 mezzanine board is being retired because of parts discontinuance by suppliers. We wanted to let you know about this change and how we are supporting our customers who use this board.

First, we are now offering a new, lower-cost version of the board, identical to the original except without E1 support. We encourage you to consider switching to this “no E1” version, at a price lower than that of the original board.

Second, we still have parts available to fulfill reduced order levels of the original Combo 3 with E1 support. However, if you foresee an increased need for this board, let us know and we’ll research options to support that need for you.

For pricing and availability, contact sales.
For details on the updated product, see the Combo3 product page.

We’ve moved

12/10/2008: EDT has recently moved to a new location. It’s not far from the old one, just another building in the same business park. But we’re very excited about having more (and better organized) space to develop our cutting edge products.

Our address has changed, so please make a note of the new one:1400 NW Compton Drive, Suite 315, Beaverton OR 97006. Our telephone numbers and email addresses remain unchanged. For complete contact information, select the Contact link on this page.

Mac OS X device drivers

Mac OS 10 device drivers are now available for EDT DV family products, and can be ported to others on request.

Access the PCI DV Software/Driver Packages page to download to MacOS device drivers for Digital Image capture boards, or contact us if you have a need for a Mac OS driver for a non-DV product. When contacting us, we will need to know the EDT product and Mac OS revision.

flexible framing with up to 15 check frames;
up to 15 flywheel frames.

Reed-Solomon error correction or custom (n,k) block:
CCSDS Reed-Solomon (255,223) error correction or custom (n,k) block;
4, 5 or 8-way interleave depth;
shortened codes using “virtual fill”;
randomization/derandomization.

Reed-Solomon encoding:
CCSDS Reed-Solomon (255, 223) encoding;
4, 5, or 8-way interleave depth;

Support for other boards is also possible but would require an NRE charge to implement. Please contact EDT for more details.
